DJ's passion for real estate and building started young. At just 21, he launched an outdoor living company in Western New York, and over the next 22 years, he and his team grew it into one of the largest outdoor living companies in the region. Every winter, when outdoor work slowed down, he kept his crew working by flipping homes, which led naturally into remodeling restaurants and building homes and commercial spaces.
In 2022, DJ's family moved to Florida. It was a change that opened doors for his children that they wouldn't have had in their small New York hometown, and a new professional challenge for him. He studied Florida's building codes and went back through the licensing process from scratch to become a Florida-licensed contractor. Preferred Builders was built from that leap.
The foundation hasn't changed: honesty and hard work. We're committed to building our clients' dream spaces, and to educating them along the way so every decision they make benefits them for years to come.
