A lanai is a screened or covered outdoor living space attached to the home. A pool cage is a screen enclosure specifically around a pool. We build both, and often combine them into one connected structure.
Screening is designed to blow out in extreme wind on purpose, protecting the frame from structural failure. The aluminum framing itself is engineered to current Florida wind-load code.
